Terms.

What you get when you buy Tagits, what it costs, and how to cancel. Last updated 7th October 2026.

Who you are dealing with

Tagits is run by Steve Jarvis, a sole trader trading as tagits.co.uk, at Room 6, Old Chapel Court, 13 Church Street, Oswestry SY11 2SU. Email hello@tagits.co.uk. Tagits is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to any price.

Who these terms cover

These terms apply when you sign up for Tagits, buy tags or use your account. Tagits is sold to people who run holiday lets, lodges, glamping sites, parks and guest houses as a business. If you buy as a consumer, your rights under consumer law still apply, and nothing here takes them away.

If you are a guest who opened a tag, only the section on using the site applies to you. The page you saw was written by your host.

How the contract is made

You check your order on Stripe’s payment page before you pay, and can change it there. The contract starts when the payment goes through and your dashboard shows the plan or order. If we cannot supply what you ordered, we tell you and refund you in full. The contract is in English.

What Tagits does

Tagits posts you printed NFC and QR tags. You claim each one by tapping it, and write the page a guest sees when they open it. Tags on alarms, extinguishers and the hot tub can also record a check when someone signed in to the property taps them, and those checks make up the property’s safety log.

The safety log is a record of the checks people make. It does not make a property safe or compliant, it is not a fire risk assessment, and it does not replace servicing by a competent contractor. Where Tagits repeats government or HSE guidance, the guidance is the authority, not Tagits. Running the property safely stays your responsibility.

The free trial

You can set up one object free, with a QR sign you print yourself. No card is needed and no tags are posted. The posted tags and the safety log come with the paid first year.

Prices

The first year for one property is £99, with up to fifteen tags and their postage included. From the second year it is £49 a year or £4.99 a month for each property. Each further unit on the same site is £19 a year, plus its tags.

Tags beyond the fifteen, and tags for a further unit, are £2.50 each. Added to your first order they travel in the same parcel; ordered later, postage is £1.50 an order.

The first ten sites are founding members: £99 for the first year, then £39 a year for as long as that site’s plan carries on.

You pay by card through Stripe, and the plan renews automatically each year or each month until you cancel. A unit added part way through a year is charged straight away for the rest of that year. If a price changes, we email you at least 30 days before it applies to you; it starts at your next renewal after that, and you can cancel before then.

If a payment fails

We ask you to update your card from your dashboard. Your tags keep opening their pages while you do. If the payment is still not made, we may end the plan, as if you had cancelled it.

Your tags

We post to addresses in the UK only, and aim to send your tags within 30 days of your order. Once paid for, the tags are yours. Each site can claim as many tags as it has paid for.

If a tag does not work when it arrives, tell us and we will send another free. Each unit also gets two free replacements a year for tags that are lost or damaged; after that a replacement is £2.50 plus £1.50 postage.

Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel at any time from “Card, invoices and cancelling” in your dashboard, or by emailing hello@tagits.co.uk.

Cancel within 14 days of paying for your first year and we refund the £99 in full. You do not need to send the tags back.

If you buy as a consumer, you can also cancel an order of extra tags within 14 days of receiving them. Send back the tags you have not claimed and we refund what you paid for them.

After that, cancelling stops the next renewal and Tagits keeps working until the end of the year you paid for. A monthly plan stops at the end of that month. The rest of a period already paid for is not refunded, unless the law says it must be.

When a plan ends, your tags still open their pages and your safety log stays readable and printable, but no new checks can be recorded. We keep your account until you ask us to close it.

Your account and your team

You sign in with a link sent to your email, so keep that email account to yourself. You can invite cleaners and staff to a property. You are responsible for who you invite and what they do in Tagits, and for telling them that each check they record is saved with their name.

Your pages and your records

You write the pages your guests see, and you are responsible for what they say. Do not put anything on them that is unlawful, misleading, or that you do not have the right to share. Keep codes such as a key safe number behind a tag’s PIN, not in its open text. We may take down a page that breaks the law or these terms, and will tell you why.

Your safety log and your guests’ messages are your records. You can print them, or save them as a PDF, at any time. How we handle the personal information in them is in our privacy notice.

Keeping Tagits running

We work to keep Tagits available all the time, but it may be briefly unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. Reminders are sent by email, and email can be delayed or filtered as spam, so keep your own eye on what is due: your dashboard always shows it.

We may suspend an account that is used to break the law or to attack the service, and will tell you why unless the law or a security risk prevents it. If we ever close Tagits, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice, refund any time you have paid for and will not get, and keep your log available to print until it closes.

Using the site

Anyone may use the site and open a tag page. Do not use it to break the law, try to get into accounts or systems that are not yours, overload or attack it, or copy large parts of it with automated tools. Some of these are criminal offences under the Computer Misuse Act 1990.

The pages about fire safety and hot tubs are general information, not advice for your property. We own the site’s text, design, logos and code; you may not reuse them commercially without our written permission.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit.

If you use Tagits for a business, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for any indirect loss. Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in those 12 months.

If you use it as a consumer, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or not using reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses.

We are not responsible for a check that was missed, recorded wrongly or not made, or for what a page written by a host says.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change affects a plan you have already paid for, we email you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then. The date at the top shows the latest version.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your own country’s courts.

If something goes wrong, please email hello@tagits.co.uk first. We reply within five working days and aim to settle it within 14. We do not use an alternative dispute resolution service; if we cannot settle it, you can contact Citizens Advice or go to court.

We may transfer these terms to someone who takes over Tagits, and will tell you if we do; your rights stay the same. No one else has rights under them. If a court finds one part unlawful, the rest still applies.
